As he read, I fell in love like you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once. John Green, The Fault In Our Stars

“burning the future to stay warm”

It’s a paper town. I mean look at it, Q: look at all those cul-de-sacs, those streets that turn in on themselves, all the houses that were built to fall apart. All those paper people living in their paper houses, burning the future to stay warm. All the paper kids drinking beer some bum bought from them at the paper convenience store. Everyone demented with the mania of owning things. All the things paper-thin and paper-frail.”—John Green, Paper Towns (pg 57-58)

The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves, that we are underlings. Julius Caesar

Nerds are allowed to LOVE stuff. Like jump-up-and-down-in-a-chair-can’t-control-yourself-love it. When people call people ‘nerds’ mostly what they’re saying is ‘you like stuff.’ Which is just not a very good insult at all like ‘you are too enthusiastic about the miracle of human consciousness.’ John Green (via thesequoteshave)

Another quote from one of my favourite books of all time, Looking for Alaska.
Wow, so many people I follow are quoting John Green today, I fucking love it.

Baby on the Road: Thoughts from Places (via vlogbrothers)

I think this is definitely my favourite vlogbrothers video due to John’s poetic narration.  It really is kind of beautiful.

What is an “instant” death anyway? How long is an instant? Is it one second? Ten? The pain of those seconds must have been awful as her heart burst and her lungs collapsed and there was no air and no blood to her brain and only raw panic. What the hell is instant? Nothing is instant. Instant rice takes five minutes, instant pudding an hour. I doubt that an instant of blinding pain feels particularly instantaneous. John Green (Looking For Alaska)
